Lawyers to present new draft law on civil marriage

The Beirut Bar Association Thursday unveiled a draft law that if adopted would make civil marriage possible in Lebanon. Lebanon does not have a single personal status code. Women's quota a 'national right': Ogasapian

Lebanon's Minister of State for Women's Affairs Jean Ogasapian Thursday said that a women's quota for Parliament is a "national right." Women's group condemns lack of minimum quota in vote law

The National Commission for Lebanese Women blasted the new vote law on Wednesday, saying it marginalizes women, and called for equal representation in Parliament. Activists Repeal of ‘rape law’ only one of needed reforms
